Shah Rukh Khan’s forthcoming films include a project with friend Karan Johar, where he would be paired opposite Kajol after a span of seven years! Apart from this he is busy with ‘Bhootnath’, where he has a special appearance.

Brand Shah Rukh is surely going places! From ruling the box-office, King Khan is now edging his way into other forms of media too. Nothing surprising for an actor, who originally burst onto the big scene after doing his bit on television (Fauji, Circus).

With his popularity soaring on all fronts, Shah Rukh Khan has decided to make his mark in other media than film. He has recently been snapped up by a UK legal services company, CTS (Claim Today Solicitors) that, incidentally, caters to a pre-dominantly Asian clientèle. King Khan will be endorsing their brand on UK television.

This is the first time that the Bollywood superstar will be endorsing an exclusively foreign brand that caters only to Asians living in the UK.

The Claim Today management feels that Shah Rukh will of course add value to their image as well as make more Asians keen on availing the services of CTS.

While in the UK, Shah Rukh also took the opportunity to launch Zee Radio, UK’s first Bollywood radio station from Zee Network. And with Shah Rukh at the helm, the three-day extravaganza of the Zee Carnival 2008 was sold out in no time!

Shah Rukh’s foray into media other than Cinema was capped off with his appearance on the much talked-about Nach Baliye Show on Star Plus. Shah Rukh joined the contestants, and shook a leg to the famous Dard-e-Disco track of his 2007 hit movie, Om Shanti Om.

Along with the 10 participating couples, Shah Rukh set the dance floor on fire! The particular episode would be broadcast on STAR Plus on Saturday 1st March 2008 at 9.00pm.

This year Shah Rukh is also returning to television with another game show (he had earlier hosted the third season of the Indian version of Who Will Be A Millionaire?, Kaun Banega Crorepati?). Bollywood actor and director Anupam Kher has decided to open an acting school in the UK. The acting school is an extension of Kher’s ‘Actor Prepares Academy’ in Mumbai, which was set up in 2005.

The UK branch will be set up in Ealing, West London, in collaboration with Ealing Institute of Media and regeneration agency, Heathrow City Partnership.

The school is expected to open by September 2008.

Initially the school wwill run only three 3-month courses, admitting upto 60 students. The fee is said to be approximately £ 6,000.

Kher conceived the idea of opening such a school in the UK while acting in the British film, ‘Bend It like Beckham’. He realized the sort of attraction that the Indian entertainment sector holds for British Asians.

The popularity of recently released Bollywood movies with predominantly NRI themes and UK locations, have added to the interest to star in a Bollywood film. Even the success of Bollywood stars like Upen Patel and Katrina Kaif have helped draw the young generation of British Asians to Bollywood.

With his institute, Kher aims to provide a platform to budding British Asian talent to ease their entry into what is effectively the biggest film making industry in the world.

Following a disastrous fire in 2002, Anand refurbished the restaurant with a chic new style that now includes a calming water feature underneath the glass floor at the entrance, black granite features, modern high chairs and polished floorboards.

Moving from strength to strength, Madhu’s is established in the catering industry as the top UK Asian outside caterer, the only and first Asian caterer accredited by the top West End hotels including London’s Hilton on Park Lane, Café Royal, Carlton Tower and Grosvenor House Hotel.
