How to Trim Hair

Tag: Fashion,Hair Care

You must have had those days when you finally made up your mind to trim those long locks of yours, but felt just too lazy to go the salon. Postponing this to the next Sunday and then the next and so on is the most obvious way out. How you wish you could trim your hair at the comforts of home! Your wish might just come true! Trimming long hair at home is very much possible, provided you are patient enough to learn. In the following lines we have given step-by-step instructions on how to trim hair.

Things Required
Comb
Mirror
Hair Cutting Scissors
Spray Bottle

Instructions
It is best to trim long hair just after washing your hair. That way, there are no traces of oil, the hair is wet and can be cut easily.
If your hair dries up instantly, we recommend keeping a water spray bottle to spray water on the hair, when it gets dry.
Divide your hair into two equal sections and bring them in the front. Make sure there are no tangles and your hair is combed straight. If your hair is curly or wavy, straighten them out a bit, spray little water and comb it straight.
Hold the tip of one section of hair between your index and middle finger, like scissors. The hair should be spread evenly between your fingers. Don’t hold them in a bunch. Place your fingers at the line from where you want to trim below.
Keep your head straight and stiff, pull the section of hair tightly and snip off very carefully, with the professional hair cutting scissors, in a straight line. Make sure your fingers that are holding the hair are straight and then, cut along the straight line.
Begin by chopping off just less than an inch of hair. It is easier as the hair at the tips is usually a bit thinner and if you happen to accidentally snip off some more portions from a strand, it can be balanced.
If handling one thick half of the section is too much, divide that section into two halves and cut in a straight line, one by one. Do this with the other section of your hair and match the front strands of the two sections to ensure they are straight. Your trimming is complete!
